Memorial Day Picnic!!

Yesterday we went to a Memorial Day celebration at the Oliver's home. We ate, played games, and visited!

They had a series of 9 games that involved many different challenges. As it went on, teams were eliminated until there was one winning team.  I didn't get a picture of each step, but here is the first one: stringing cheerios while blindfolded!

For this part of the game the teams had to fill their ice cream pail full of water, by running to a large bucket of water and scooping it up using a container that had holes in it!

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver and Mr. and Mrs. K  :)

Here the team members are standing back to back. One has a drawing of geometric shapes and the other has a blank piece of paper and a pencil.  The one with the drawing had to tell the other one what to draw and then the drawing had to pass inspection by...
 ....the inspector.

 Enjoying the show!

The very last challenge was to catch and saddle a horse!  By this time there were only three teams left.  Here Mr. Oliver is demonstrating how to halter a horse.

Congratulations Nate and Kristopher!

Amy, Clara, and Ana!

Visit from Aunt Shelly and Grandma

They came last Friday and stayed until Saturday afternoon. :)
 Aunt Shelly, Grandma, and Dad.

Since Grandma's birthday was in just a few days, Ana made her a cake.
Chocolate with mint frosting - yum!  She was surprised! :)

Saturday morning we girls went for a long walk with Aunt Shelly up to "Little Siberia".
It was beautiful up there, and we had a fun time together!!

May Quilt Club Meeting

Wednesday Mom and I went with a friend from church to the quilt club meeting in a town about an hour north of us. My favorite part of the meeting is always the show and tell time. :)
 Two small quilts.

 A bright crazy quilt!

I brought my Scotty quilt along to show. :)

Camera Fun

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my friend Moya.  Her youngest brother Marcus was fascinated with our cameras and took several pictures with each of them...he was so funny!

Picture of Moya taken by Marcus - pretty good for a 3 year old, don't you think? :)  (I did crop it a bit.)

The little photographer at work. :)

National Day of Prayer

Dad, Ana, and I along with several people from church joined with others in the community to observe the 61st Annual National Day of Prayer last evening.  Eight men prayed for various aspects of our nation, and the Northern Lights Gospel Quartet provided the music. Afterwards I took pictures of the quartet, which I really enjoyed!
