Snowflakes On the Window

I was attempting to take a picture of the snowy landscape through the car window this morning, but the camera focused on the snowflakes instead. :-)

Snow!

We were supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow Tuesday evening. We've had such a mild winter, so we were all excited at the prospect of SNOW; I had high hopes that we would get a blizzard.  We ended up with about 8 - 10 inches of beautiful sparkly snow!  Although I'm not sure if it was a blizzard or not since it all happened while we were sleeping. ;)

Frost and Mist

Views out our windows yesterday.
I love it when the tree branches are covered with frost, and the air over the marsh is misty.

...Spiky Slush...

One snowy day, upon arriving home, I noticed this spiky pattern on our van's tires.
Rather pretty, don't you think?  :)

Hand work

Last Friday we spent a delightful time at our friend's home having a delicious lunch and then settling into comfy chairs and working on hand-work projects while we visited. To me, this is one of the best ways to spend a cold winter afternoon!
Hannah's rug hooking project.

Miss Gulliver joined us. :)

I want to make a quilt like this, so simple and old-fashioned looking!

Traveling in weather like this makes me feel like I am on an adventure!

What to do when it is COLD out...

On those below zero days when it's so cold your coffee freezes...

...and there is nothing but snow to be seen; here is a fun thing to do.

Take a small to medium size pan of water and bring to a boil. Carefully take it outside and throw the water up in the air!

We has a lot of fun with this one morning!!

Tea with Friends

Yesterday we drove over to spend the afternoon with friends.
        Navigating "The Pass"

The S. ladies wearing their lovely shawls from Russia.

We had a delightful time having a show-and-tell of hand work projects!

  Elsa's "anti-love-the-earth-movement" bag!

:)

The lovely tea table. Isn't the centerpiece beautiful?!
They served us fruit, ginger cookies, Maple Twists, and Norwegian flatbread with butter.  So delicious!

    Hannah serving the tea.

My cup of Jasmine tea served in Maren's Russian china!

They have the most beautiful fern.
Although Mrs. S. did say it was much smaller than usual!

We had a delightful time - it was a good day!

White as Snow

"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow.."
Isaiah 1:18b
The cold weather really makes the snow sparkle! If you click on the picture above you can see it larger and all the crystal snowflakes will show up.
