Moya's Wedding Dress

A few months ago a dear friend asked me to make her wedding dress.  I was delighted!  She had a favorite outfit (a skirt and top) from Africa that I took a pattern off of.
I measured the dress and took notes on construction.

Tracing the skirt panels with a sharp tracing wheel.

Cutting out the finished pattern!

The lovely fabric

The finished dress!!  It fit her perfectly and suited her so well!!

Warren and Moya's Wedding

Friday was our friend Moya's wedding in a nearby town.  It turned out to be a lovely spring-like day! Dad dropped Ana and me off at about 8:00AM  as she was in charge of the cake and I was a bridesmaid.
The bride's mother baked the cake and Ana filled, stacked, and frosted it....
...with a little 'help' from Moya's youngest brother!
:)

The finished cake!
Ana made the lovely cherry blossoms out of gum paste.

Posing for pictures before the wedding.
I was delighted to be a bridesmaid!!
Moya was very relaxed about dresses, colors... actually she was very relaxed about everything!  She told us each to wear a dress we liked. :)  I was not able to be there for the rehearsal dinner as I was sick with a  fever. (But by the day of the wedding I was better, which was a huge and amazing answer to prayer!)
When Ana and I got to the church she started in on the cake and the Matron of Honor showed me what I was supposed to do, how to walk in etc.  I found out I was the first bridesmaid to walk down. Gulp. It worked out just fine though, for which I am very thankful.

It was a fun day!

Note: Most of these pictures were taken by Amy or Ana, a few by me, and the one of us three girls was taken by one of the photographers. :)

John and Abbey's Wedding!

This past Saturday our family went to a wedding a little over 2 hours southeast of us.  It was a cold winter day, but thankfully the roads were clear.  It was a lovely wedding and I really appreciated the message the gentleman who did the wedding gave.  (He is on the far left in the picture below.)

Tim and Jordan's Wedding!

Last Saturday was the Texas wedding of our dear friend Jordan C. to Tim L.  It was a lovely God-honoring celebration!
The chapel.

We girls enjoyed helping decorate the tables in the beautiful reception rooms.

Ana made the cake topper and she was so happy to finally place in on the cake.  Isn't it lovely?
We were a bit concerned that it might not make the trip all the way to Texas in one piece...but thankfully it did!

One of the gorgeous bouquets in the chapel.

Mr. and Mrs. C!!
There were 7 flower girls, 7 bell boys...
....6 lovely bridesmaids....
...and 6 dapper groomsmen.

Waiting..

Here she comes!

The dads each gave a charge to the couple, and Mr. R. gave the wedding 'sermon'.

The kiss!

"...For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh. Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh.
Matthew 19:5-6

Jordan's brother Jacob gave a big thumbs up as he walked out, and the whole place erupted into cheers!! =D He is so much fun!
