Bible School

 Last week Ana and I assisted some friends with a Bible School at their church.  There were 12- 15 children who attended, and several came from broken homes.  They didn't know much of anything about God or the gospel.  Mrs. D., whose class I helped with, had me do part of the lesson with the children.  This was a new experience for me as I've never though of myself as a good teacher, but I found after a couple days of getting used to it that I really enjoyed that time with the kids!  They came up with unique thought provoking answers to the review questions, and I enjoyed talking with them about how God is always trustworthy and truthful, what 'grace' means, and many other things. :)

Most of the children.

 Craft time!

Serve and Bless

"Every season of our lives has been granted us as an opportunity to serve the Lord.  Our goal should be to bless others in whatever sphere of influence the Lord has placed us - in whatever context He has called us to live out the biblical womanhood that He has called us to."
~ Jasmine Baucham in the book Joyfully at Home

...Grace...

Irresistible Grace

I sought You, Lord, but now I see
You were the one who was seeking me;
I found You, Lord, and then I knew
That I was found by You.

Chorus:
You have called me with irresistible grace
From before time began.
Thank You, Lord, for saving me;
On Your grace now I can stand.

I took Your hand when I was weak:
Sinking, yet always within Your reach.
My feet were firm though on the sea
For You took hold of me.

I sought, I walked, because Your grace
Long before had fixed my place;
And now I love- how can it be?
‘Twas You who first loved me.

A Birthday...

Monday was Dad's birthday and Ana made him this delicious 10 layer cake....oh yum!
He requested lettuce from the garden with a bunch of different toppings for his meal. It was very hot and humid that day so we mostly stayed indoors ...playing games...eating cake....reading.....and trying to stay cool.  :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! I am so thankful for you!!

A Wedding!

Saturday we went to the wedding of our friends Delvin and Brittany.

The parents lighting the candles that the bride and groom will use to light the unity candle.

I love the look on Delvin's face when he first saw Brittany come down the isle!

Andy B. leading the singing, while his brother Stephen is taking pictures. :)

Beautiful!

The bridesmaids and groomsmen watching the bride and groom light the unity candle.

Brittany sang a song for Delvin...it was lovely! She has a beautiful voice. :)

Mr and Mrs Delvin B!!!

The cake that Brittany made.  Ana helped her make the hydrangea flowers out of gum paste.

Brittany's youngest brother Truitt is a huge Roy Rogers fan.
Here he is in his western shirt and Roy Rogers hat!

Trying to get into the car!!
Where is his head? :D

And they are off!!

There were two older gentlemen admiring this motorcycle that was in the parking lot. :)
(His tie makes me smile!) :)
